Chicco Palms – A Palm Springs Inspired Wedding

Jessica Mary Photography Wonderland Invites Perth WA Palm Springs lesbian wedding Dancing With Her

“The stylist, Kelly of Found Collective Events, and I love all things boho and Palm Springs. So what better way to celebrate our love for the poolside, chic beach style than coordinate a shoot at the most Palm Springs-Esque building Adelaide has to offer – Chico Palms Hot Pizza shop.

We went in hard on the Palm Springs vibe through the hire items we lent from Sash Events and through the florals by Stemhaus. We paid homage to the quintessential caravan by the Palm Springs pool image, which is everywhere on Pinterest, by hiring Grain & Vesper’s unique white caravan bar. Real-life newlyweds Prue and Lisa stepped in as our models. Both ladies looked absolutely beautiful in Lovers Society and Rue de Seine gowns. We played to each woman’s natural beauty and accentuated their features with natural makeup. From the desserts and stationery to the jewelry and accessories, everything just worked beautifully.”

Meeting was like sliding doors moments for a few years. We both went to the same university and worked for the same ambulance service. We had a lot of mutual friends, but we never properly met each other since we were never in the same place at the same time.

Fortunately, we both decided to attend the emergency services games for soccer. The tournament was in Melbourne, so we started talking on the car ride over and have been inseparable ever since.

That was seven years ago.

Our favorite memory is the first overseas holiday to Thailand we took together. It was all brand new and exciting, and there were no daily life distractions. We were able just to get lost in it all. We ate fantastic food, watched every sunset sitting in a beanbag drinking cocktails, and enjoyed snorkeling around the island.

Prue thinks Lisa is sunshine.

She is such a caring, fun-loving person and always puts others first. She has the best sense of adventure and is always looking for a new experience, concert, festival, or holiday destination.

Lisa’s favorite thing about Prue is her caring nature. She loves her family so much and will do anything for them. She is a truly selfless person, and she shows that in her job working with the disadvantaged indigenous population in Ceduna and her everyday life – she will go out of her way to help people.

Prue’s been working away, one week on, one week off, for the past fourteen months. While the work has been rewarding, it has been really challenging and a huge adjustment for us as a couple. We have found that relationships are made a lot easier by proximity. Being away from each other takes a lot of work to maintain our connection. We’ve had a lot of loss, death, and grief in the last year, too, so we’ve had to work hard to support each other through this.

We hope our future is filled with travel, maybe the option of living overseas, and hopefully a family sometime soon.

We would love to have some children together.
