Sophie and I have been together for six years. We met on holiday in Greece and bonded right away. We were friends for many years. Over time it became impossible to deny just how much we really cared about each other.

Six years ago, on my birthday, we went to Barcelona, where she declared her love for me. Since that day, we have been inseparable.

We often talked about marriage because Sophie wanted to make me a promise of love to share our love story with our families. We planned a trip to Spain for my Mom’s birthday, Sophie was excited to go back to Spain, and to me, it seemed like a sign of destiny. It was time to propose.

On the day of the proposal, I lost the engagement ring. I knew I left it in my beauty case and in desperation, asked Sophie if she had seen it, and then found out it was in her suitcase.

We were walking in front of the Sagrada Familia, remembering our first trip there and his statement. I was literally shaking, I knelt, and words didn’t come out of my mouth. Sophie wouldn’t let me say anything anyway. She immediately started to jump and say, “I DO! I DO!!”

After the proposal, I told Sophie about the missing beauty case and what was inside. She burst out laughing, saying that without her, I would be lost. She is my person, and we complete each other.

Our engagement brought us together even more than before.

Our love has always been powerful but sharing and making our history understood to our families was really important for us. Now we want to create our own family.
