Amy and Hannah’s love story began on a dating app, Her, in April 2017. They talked endlessly and finally met for drinks at a cute bar called La Rumbla. The conversation flowed effortlessly, and they both had a great time, so much so that Amy asked Hannah to come home with her, and they hit it off. They spent the next two months getting to know each other, and Amy arranged a private luxury wine tour for just the two of them. At lunch, Amy asked Hannah to be her girlfriend, and Hannah excitedly accepted. Four months later, Hannah moved in with Amy, Tequila, and Magic, and the family was complete!
Amy had planned a perfect proposal for Hannah in Port Douglas in March 2020. Still, unfortunately, the Covid pandemic forced them to cancel the trip. Amy couldn’t wait any longer and proposed to Hannah in a unique and thoughtful way – with a PowerPoint presentation at work that had pictures of their journey so far. The last slide read, “Will you marry me?” Hannah said yes, and they celebrated with a bottle of Moet.
Their wedding day was on the 28th of October, close enough to Halloween, and it was a relaxed and fun party. Ayers House was their perfect venue, elegant and glamorous, with three separate spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Their theme was not so much Halloween, but they did have a Jack-O-Lantern pumpkin with Hannah while she was getting ready, and it found its way into the limo and the reception.

The wedding was perfect, and they had the best suppliers. They spent the night before the wedding together and were so excited that they couldn’t sleep. On the day, their bridal party arrived at their Airbnb early in the morning, and the hairdressers and makeup artists came soon after. They drank mimosas, had grazing platters, and got excited! They were ready ahead of schedule, and the limo picked up Hannah and her bridesmaids first and then Amy and her girls. Hannah walked down the aisle to the song “The Cure” by Lady Gaga, and Amy walked down the aisle to “Love Will Keep Us Alive” by The Eagles. The ceremony was beautiful, and many people were crying.
After the ceremony, they had photos on the front lawn in front of Ayers House, followed by a cocktail hour for their guests. Amy and Hannah went across to the botanical gardens with their bridesmaids for photos, and it was magical when they were alone together for their photos. They then returned to start the reception and made their entrance to “For You” by Rita Ora. The food was amazing, and there was way too much of it. They cut the cake to “Be My Baby” by The Ronettes and danced to “Crazy for You” by Madonna. The dance floor kicked off, and the party went on until midnight. They had a sparkler send-off and left early to enjoy their feelings together privately.
Amy and Hannah’s love story is proof that love can be found in unexpected places, and when it is right, it just feels easy and natural. They are grateful for each other and for the beautiful memories of their perfect wedding day.
