Tell us the inspiration behind the shoot.

I was inspired to put this shoot together because I think it’s unique to bring real-life trends into a wedding setting. There are so many trends that are specifically popular for weddings. But I thought it would be fun to take a current trend and show how it could work for a wedding as well. I am particularly inspired by tie-dye because I think the way different colors and shades blend together is beautifully symbolic of how two people and families come together on a wedding day.

Once I chose the tie-dye theme, it felt like a natural fit to select Woodstock’s location. An Airbnb was selected as the venue as I wanted to highlight an intimate option for micro weddings given the times we’re living in. Instead of trying to go over the top with all different colors in the tie-dye, I chose just blues and indigos for that portion. Bringing in bright, fall jewel tones in the flowers. As another nod to Woodstock, the ceremony backdrop featured a dyed banner with a Jimi Hendrix Quote. The wild-living garden vibe on top of the fireplace mimicked the wildness of Woodstock back in the day.

Why was creating this shoot important to the team?

In a time where things are so quiet and a bit dark, as creatives, we all missed the act of actually creating! We thought this bright, vibrant shoot towards the end of fall would bring some color back into couples’ lives and help them stay inspired as they plan their weddings.

We also wanted to work with a real, in love couple for this shoot and we found that was an essential part of the story!

What are the key styling elements of the styled inspiration, and who brought them to life?

The tie-dye theme runs throughout the entire shoot, from the invitation suite to the placemats on the tables. We all collaborated to bring this idea to life. Indigos and blues were used as the base color, with the bright pops of color brought in through the flowers. We went with gold, vintage accents to play into the warmth and bring out the boho vibe.
