Bec and Jo met at work – they met more than eleven years ago. For the proposal, Jo actually took Bec back to the very place they met at Tambourine Mountain and proposed.

The lovers didn’t want to get married until their marriage would be legally recognized in Australia, which meant they were engaged for nearly seven years.

Bec always wanted a city-esq wedding; they had always found something fun and cool about being dressed up against the grittiness of a city. The lovers Googled some industrial spaces and came upon Lightspace. Once they had a walkthrough, they knew it was the one. Room enough to have the ceremony and reception all in one handy location.

When it came to finding outfits, Bec went suit shopping with the groomsmen. Jo, however, was four months pregnant while dress shopping, and the wedding was locked in just a few months after their son was due to be born. She tried on a dress that she didn’t necessarily love, but she fell in love – it ended up being perfect.

There was no particular vibe. The couple just knew that they wanted everyone they love in one place to eat, drink, and celebrate love. The couple didn’t undertake any DIY projects; instead, they chose to hire professionals they trusted to bring to life the day.

The whole day is almost a blur for the lovers – they’re thankful they have photos to reflect on.

They had a first look, just the couple and their ‘people’ [AKA the wedding party] and got coffee and hung out before they head to the ceremony. It was a time that allowed some of the nerves to disappear.

After a heartfelt ceremony, a reception followed. Good food, drinking, and dancing ensued well into the night.
