Chrissy & Kellie – A Modern, but Traditional, Romance

Emma Ryan Photography UK Yorkshire lesbian two brides gay wedding inspiration Dancing With Her

Chrissy & Kellie stood in as models in this styled edit brought together by a creative team of UK wedding suppliers. With a focus on modern romance, fine art, and refined beauty and a light color palette of purples, greys, and white brought together this rather traditional inspired wedding.

How did you meet?

We met at Leeds Pride Parade, 2017, through mutual friends. There’s a running joke amongst friends about this because Kellie hadn’t ever dated a girl before. When Chrissy asked for her number, she thought she just wanted to connect and be friends with her, like the wider group. It soon became apparent that wasn’t the case, and their relationship blossomed.

What is your favorite memory together?

When Chrissy proposed at Temple Newsam in Leeds, on 29th October 2019, after a picnic amongst the Autumn leaves, she managed to keep it a complete surprise!

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome together?

We were living long distance for over two years. When we met, neither of us drove. We both worked different shift patterns, and making time for each other wasn’t always easy. We’ve also gone through job changes, moving houses, and Kellie has started a business on top of working full time, so time together was so limited but precious.

We managed to move in together just before Lockdown was imposed, epic timing as always, and now we can’t imagine being without each other. We wished we’d done it sooner.

Tell us your favorite thing about one another.

K: She challenges me in so many ways. She stays calm and talks me down in those times of chaos. She is also the sweetest and kindest person I’ve ever met. Even when people don’t deserve it, she never waivers in that. It’s just a part of her nature. Chrissy is beautiful inside and out.

C: She is beautiful in every way possible. Her laugh makes me laugh. Her smile makes me smile even harder, and still, after over two years together, I catch myself just looking at her, and I know that I have found my person. She literally is the other half of me. I am so lucky.

What’s in the future for you both?

We are due to get married next year (this was just an excellent practice session!). We hope for a beautiful day with our closest friends and family and then an epic honeymoon. We’ll need a break after a super busy year.

After that, we’re working towards buying a house to start our family with lots of dogs.
