This London wedding is colorful and unique, with a touch a rainbow pride and a whole lot of confetti, Abs and Kella were frugal, but thoughtful.
What was the inspiration behind the vibe of your wedding?
The only vibe we wanted was colourful, unique, and relaxed. We wanted the day to feel like us but with a touch of indulgence. So we went for a slight rainbow theme that was weaved throughout as a nod to the LGBTQIA+ community. We also didn’t have a sit-down meal. We instead went for a cocktail-style wedding with our caterers in a festival-style stall and servers, keeping everyone well fed and watered. We hadn’t been to a wedding like this before but knew we wanted a relaxed vibe, and it really worked.
Talk to us about your experience finding the perfect outfits.
We wanted to be frugal when spending money on dresses we would never wear again. So Kella got her dress second-hand from Still White, and Abs got hers from Wed2Be. We made the outfits our own with our accessories. We also had fun trying each others on a few weeks after the big day.

Tell us about your wedding day.
We got up and had a lovely relaxing morning together, then some close friends and family came to our flat late morning to help us all get ready. We had lunch together, then everyone but our mums headed to the venue. Our mums stayed with us to help us into our dresses, and we traveled with them and our photographer Leesha to the venue.
We walked down the aisle together, had a personal ceremony where we had three readings, and celebrated with an epic confetti throw and Champagne. Then, we walked through Walthamstow Village with 70 guests to our next venue, where food was being served along with drinks. Next, we had a magician entertain our guests, a DJ, and later on, we had a drag queen.
Advice for other couples planning a wedding?
Enjoy every moment and make decisions that YOU are happy with. The day is about a union, and everyone is there to celebrate you both. Also, don’t get bogged down with the guest list. We were ruthless with ours, and I am glad we were. A good photographer is everything, it will feel like a lot of money, but it’s worth it.
