Tell us a little about yourselves?

We are both entrepreneurs at heart and are working towards creating a business of our own. Continually coming up with ideas and will pursue one of the greats eventually. We are so driven to be our own bosses one day!

We have been together for three years and met at work. Once we met each other, it was like a magnetic connection, and couldn’t stop talking to each other.

Both having a love for wine, so one of our favorite pass times is sharing a bottle cozy at home or a tasting tour at a new winery. We love wine so much we spent our honeymoon in Napa! It was a dream come true! Lots of wine, good food, and fantastic weather.

Tell us about the proposal.

Dana was the proposer. She took me on a birthday trip where we spent a long weekend in a cabin in the woods. I had no idea it was coming.

We spent the weekend hiking, wine touring, and relaxing. On the day of the proposal, we went to one of our new favorite wineries, Early Mountain, and enjoyed a tasting and lunch. When we got back to the cabin, Dana sent me down to the fire pit and said she had a surprise. I went down, not knowing what to expect. A few moments later, she came down the stairs holding one of our favorite bottles of wine (more wine!) as well as a small glass box. Inside was the most beautiful ring, and she said: “You know I love you, right? Will you marry me?”. It was perfect.

Behind the scenes, Dana had planned to have the engagement secretly photographed. Sydney, our wedding photographer, had been hiding in the woods from the moment we returned to the cabin. I had no idea. Sydney was there ready to get the shot, but Dana had gotten so nervous she proposed in the wrong spot, and all Sydney got was an up-close of our dog (who almost blew her cover!).

Talk to us about your experience finding the perfect outfits.

My dress was the very first dress I tried on. As soon as I put it on my body, I knew it was the one! But I couldn’t stop there. I had to keep looking. I tried on a handful more but kept coming back to that first dress. My mom, sister, and Dana’s mom were with me, and they all knew the first dress was the one. My sister told me she couldn’t have imagined me in anything else. It felt like it was made just for me!

Dana’s outfit was tough to find! She pieced her outfit together rather than buying one full suit. She has such a hard time finding androgynous clothes that fit well. The standout piece to her outfit was the floral button-down from Kirrin Finch. It fit her like a glove! Anyone looking for dressy androgynous clothes that fit correctly must check them out.

Talk to us about the big day!

The day was too fast! Dana and I still managed to sneak away for a few private moments to slow down and take in the night. Overall it was exactly as we envisioned and more. The energy the entire day was pure and positive. We were surrounded by people who appreciate and understand our love for one another. What else can you ask for?

Our ceremony was incredibly personalized and written entirely by a very close friend of ours. It was not traditional in the slightest. We had popcorn, vow participation with our guests (we had them turn to a loved one and repeat a short vow), and kept it short and sweet.

By the end of the night, every guest was on the dance floor. We all danced the night away under the stars!

What does marriage mean to you?

Marriage means nothing more than having pure love between each other and unconditional support and love from those in our circle. It means being able to build a life and share firsts, seconds, thirds, and so on with your person.

At the wedding, Dana’s dad gave a short toast and said, “Heres to a lifetime of wine tastings.” That’s what marriage means. On a more intimate level, marriage means flirting every day and feeling butterflies when you get to say, “This is my wife.”
