Welcome friends! I’m Aly, a fiercely creative and playful soul, with a flair for goofball-ery. My style is based in authenticity and I adore real, unrestricted emotion above all else. The vibrant colours and beautiful surroundings of Vancouver Island inspire my natural and timeless editing. There is nothing more important to me that taking photos to help couples remember how they FELT during each part of their perfect wedding day. There’s nothing like seeing the emotion on your face to feel it all over again.
The most frequent compliment I get from people I’ve photographed is about how great I made them feel during the shoot. My love of hosting (meals for friends, birthday gatherings, etc.) really comes through in my photography style, as I love to make sure everyone is having the best time. I truly believe that feeling confident, beautiful and taken care of is the number one factor in making great photos, which is why the experience of my couples is always my first priority.

Ramen… yummm.
How do you help calm down nervous lovers?
I love to offer tons of support leading up to the wedding day and on the day itself I maintain a level-headed attitude, no matter what is happening. I also believe that guidance and direction is key, and so I offer lots of posing assistance with natural prompts, for a candid result.
How do you keep up the energy during long wedding days?
Honestly, I’ve never had an issue with this because being behind a camera invigorates me more than anything else! Okay, maybe a bit of coffee too.
