Coral Covey Jewellery
Timeless, wearable and sustainably handmade jewellery.
Hi, I’m Laura (she/her). I’m a classically trained goldsmith with a Masters in Fine Art. I completed my training at home in Naarm/Melbourne before heading to Munich, Germany, to complete my Masters. After living in Munich for 14 years, I returned home seven years ago. I’m married to my incredible wife, we have a gorgeous little boy and aging Dachshund.
My studio is situated in the stunning heritage-listed Nicholas Building, however, I increasingly work with clients from all over Australia and the world.
I absolutely adore what I do and feel lucky and grateful every day that clients entrust me with the task of making their ‘forever rings’.

As a gay woman myself and a jeweller of more than 20 years, I know and understand the struggle of finding the right person to work with. It has been such an honour to work closely with couples of all genders and backgrounds to create their special rings that will last lifetimes. It means a great deal to me that clients feel welcome, comfortable and respected when working with me on their highly personalised rings.

What’s the most unexpected source of inspiration you’ve had?
“I have to say this one must be the gorgeous couple who have a pet bearded-dragon named ‘Biscuit’. They requested I engrave Biscuit’s ‘lizardy’ footprints on the inside of the rings, gently walking from one ring to the other. I wasn’t sure how this might look or how I would do it, but with some practice it turned out to be really excellent and they loved it. I was delighted.”
