Portrait of a Bride on Fire

Style is not a box to fit yourself into, rather a palace built around who you are.

Portrait of a Bride on Fire is a bridal styling service that was started with the goal of providing more inclusive styling options for queer women and non-binary people.

Style is not just for the people that fit into traditional norms of pretty, femme, skinny, or even wealthy. Style is for everyone. On your wedding day, style takes on a new responsibility of representing the beautiful love between you and your partner. This is no small task and I don’t take it lightly.

While weddings have ventured out from tradition in almost every aspect, wedding attire including a suit and a dress have largely remained the dominant norm. This puts people who don’t fit into cishet norms in a bind. When it comes to your wedding day, I want you to feel like you’re on the red carpet— confident, unique, and filled with main character energy.

If you need someone to accompany you to a bridal appointment, I’m there. If you need someone to help construct your wedding look from a figment of your imagination, that’s me. If you just need someone to help make sure the outfits don’t clash with each other, you got me. You have my attention from the time you express interest until the end of your wedding day.

Not only will I celebrate your identities and everything that makes you who you are, I will do my best to drive business to those owned by LGBTQ+ people, women and non-binary folk, BIPOC, and people with disabilities. Moreover, I will do my best to ensure that we bring business to sustainable and ethically sourced companies.

What’s your favorite guilty pleasure TV show or movie?

TV show is easily The West Wing. My degree is in political science, history, and public policy and while the West Wing is not as progressive as it could’ve been, it was ahead of its time. As for movies, pick any of the Harry Potter movies and you got me.

What’s one skill or hobby you’ve always wanted to learn? Why?

I’ve always wanted to learn ballet and I finally started taking classes in May 2024. It’s graceful, beautiful, and challenging and I love every second of it. Even though it leaves me more sore than I’ve ever been.
