Thistle & Thorne Weddings
Specializing in Elopement Planning, Retreat Weddings, Adventure Elopements, Wedding Planning, and Day-of Coordination. #UnabashedlyYou
At Thistle & Thorne, we believe weddings should feel like you—not a carbon copy of tradition, not a forced performance, but an intentional, joy-filled celebration of love in all its forms. We’re here for the rule-breakers, the nature lovers, the deeply-in-love souls who want a wedding that reflects their story, not someone else’s script. We believe that planning your wedding should be just as joyful, intentional, and fun as the big day itself. Yes, we’re here to bring your vision to life, but we’re also here to make sure you actually enjoy the process—because your wedding isn’t just about one day, it’s about the entire journey leading up to it.
As a female-owned, LGBTQ+ inclusive wedding planning team, we create beautifully seamless celebrations that honour your identity, values, and vision. Whether it’s an intimate forest elopement, a bold city celebration, or a backyard festival of love, we specialize in crafting experiences that feel effortless, meaningful, and entirely yours.
No assumptions. No outdated expectations. Just a team of seasoned wedding planners who get it—who care deeply about the details, who make the process stress-free (and dare we say… fun?), and who ensure that every part of your day reflects the love you share.
So if you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels organic, soulful, and undeniably you—we’re your people. Let’s create something magic.
Serving Vancouver, Sea to Sky, Vancouver Island & beyond.
At Thistle & Thorne, love is love—full stop. As a queer-owned business, we are deeply committed to creating weddings that honour all identities, bodies, and love stories. Our planning approach is rooted in respect, joy, and a deep commitment to making every couple feel seen, heard, and celebrated, including all gender expressions, orientations, body types, and abilities. We understand that traditional wedding spaces aren’t always designed with accessibility or neurospiciness in mind, so we take a thoughtful, individualized approach—prioritizing comfort, inclusivity, and the little details that make a big difference. Whoever you are, however you love, and whatever your needs—your wedding should feel #UnabashedlyYou, and we’re here to make that happen.

If you had a superpower what would it be?
If I could have any superpower, I’d want the ability to communicate with and control flora and fauna—basically, full-on enchanted forest vibes meets Poison Ivy meets Sheena. Let’s be honest—wrangling florals and calming chaotic energy is already kind of my thing.
Can you share any hidden talents that come in handy at weddings?
Hidden talents? Oh, I’ve got a few up my sleeve. My foodie nature and bartending experience mean I can spot a flawless menu pairing and ensure your signature cocktail actually tastes as good as it looks. My green thumb comes in clutch when choosing florals that won’t wilt before “I do” (and for performing emergency surgery on blooms that need a little TLC). And thanks to my hobby farm upbringing, I can haul a 20ft ladder up a flight of stairs in heels—because sometimes, wedding magic requires a little muscle.
Have you got any pets? Tell us about them.
I was raised by a veterinarian, so being outnumbered by animals is just my normal. Right now, I share my home with Lucie, my 3-year-old Golden Retriever who is, without question, my child. Then there’s Ripley (named after Sigourney Weaver’s iconic Alien character), a 1-year-old long-haired enigma of a cat who rules the house with an iron paw. And finally, my elderly all-black rescue cat, who both craves affection and will aggressively yell at you for offering it—because love is complicated.
