Words by Ellie & Lauren
We were friends for a few years, then Ellie made her move. We’ve been together coming in five years.
We wanted to rent a house for our wedding [to have a relaxed vibe]. No one would have us. Portsea Pub provided us with the vibe we wanted. We fell in love with the relaxed Vibe of the Portsea Pub. We have spent many weekends down here since moving to Melbourne three years ago – it was perfect. Lauren created the bouquets. Ellie was not to be trusted with any DIY projects.
It was the most glorious day of our lives. Our favorite moment of the day was 100% the ceremony; we’ve never been more in love than in that moment.
Our good friend married us and wrote such a beautiful introduction story. It is a memory we will forever cherish. We also loved having Tuck [our golden retriever] up with us. As soon as both his Mums joined him at the front, he instantly laid down between us and relaxed. The only stresses we had were trying to squeeze in a morning swim before the makeup artist arrived and worrying that I wouldn’t be able to say our vows because we were crying so much.
The reception was the best party of our lives, oh how much we would give to do it all again.
We are happy we had Tanya as our photographer. The Portsea Hotel staff were amazing. We didn’t lift a finger. Tim and Lisa were also epic. Who knew two people and a guitar could make you feel like you could party all night?!
