Francesca and I first met through a mutual friend, and then soon after that, we became coworkers. After knowing each other for a short while, I came home from work one day and admitted to my roommates that I had a crush on someone I worked with. We laughed about it, and I told them I was mostly kidding, and we went about our evening.
Years later, Fran and I did, of course, get together, and to this day, I haven’t been able to shake the crush! Our first kiss happened to have taken place in the marriage capital of the world, Las Vegas. Before that night, we were coworkers turned friends. After that night, she was my future wife. You know what they say. What happens in Vegas can ultimately lead to a whirlwind romance followed by a long-lasting marriage.
This year I finally had the opportunity to ask her to marry me. I had the ring for over a year, and my original proposal plan was canceled due to the pandemic. Nothing I considered a plan B felt quite right until we booked some time off for a road trip to Colorado one year later.
She agreed to be my wife on top of a mountain on a sunny day, and the memories we have of that day and that trip will last a lifetime. While planning for our wedding set for Summer 2022, we were lucky enough to get to be a part of a styled shoot with some fantastic Chicago wedding vendors. The first time we ever tried on wedding dresses, we were surrounded by a crew of helpful wedding experts! We are grateful for the experience of getting to meet these talented people and to see their work up close and personal.
“I had such a blast photographing this couple at Room 1520 with those gorgeous florals from Ashland Addison. The event was planned by The Simply Elegant Group’s Emily B, who is also planning my own wedding in July!
The dresses were provided by Grace and Ivory, and hair was done by Blush and Braids Beauty Bar. Makeup was expertly completed by Alyssa Diana Makeup, and the invitation suite was curated by The Chicago Calligrapher.
The stunning cake was baked by no other than Jen from Sugar on Top Bakeshop, with rentals from both Blush and Borrowed and Chicago Vintage Rentals.
What an amazing soiree it was!”
