Boho – it’s kinda done, right? Wrong, this creative bunch pulled together a golden kind of boho that’s modern and stunning and what better way to really show off the look than use two real women in love?! It’s all been photographed by Arnold Events

When Emilia Lorena came to us with this idea of a styled shoot, that featured stories from the real women in love photographed we had to jump on board.

The macrame backdrop, created by Emilia Lorena herself against the pink walls of Mos Desert Clubhouse in Burleigh Heads, QLD was the perfect backdrop for this look featuring real-life women in love, Meika & Yaz.

Plants by The Borrowed Nursery scattered this ceremony spot and the macrame arbour isn’t complete without its floral crown by the talented Akirah Collective.

Of course, the dresses are a standout. A little sparkle by One Day Bridal, kindly lent for the day from Love Marie Bridal really steals the show and adds a new layer of spark to the look. Who said white dresses where a must have anyway?

Meika and Yaz aren’t just models for the shoot, they’re a real life, in love, couple. In celebration of Australia voting ‘YES’ in the marriage equality debate, Emila knew it was important to share their story too..

Yaz had just moved over from Perth and got a job at the same clinic Meika was working at – in fact, Meikas Mum was actually the person who employed Yaz. Best wingman ever! They became friends and work and after spending a lot of time together they fell in love.

They also have matching tattoos “We wanted something we felt no one else had, that was unique to us and our relationship. When separate, the line on the side of our hands may just look like a simple line, but when we are together and holding hands, those two lines represent so much more than just the equality symbol for us. This tattoo is there to remind us of our times of love and overpowering happiness, and it symbolises the harder times we’ve had to go through to reach that point. Its a mark to signify the fight we all embark to achieve equality, and no matter what, when we are together, our love always wins”
