A Queer, Mediterranean-Inspired Wedding in Ibiza

A Queer, Mediterranean-Inspired Wedding in Ibiza

Claudia Weaver captured this lesbian Mediterranean coast wedding in Austria Europe (1)

Glittering beach, turquoise sea, and the warming sun reflected in the gentle movement of the waves. It was summer, and the sea gently lapped the shores of Cala Comte. A gentle sea breeze refreshed the summer day, and at a bar in Cala Comte fate was kind to Sophia and Hannah when their eyes met for the first time, and a big smile followed on both sides. After exciting conversations at sunset and a few cocktails later, it was clear to both of them that this meeting was unique.

The love story of Sophia and Hannah began on the island of joie de vivre, and so it was clear that the place where they met would be decisive in their lives. They finally got engaged next to half-ruined Fincas and cacti in a breathtaking setting near Cala Comte. The island where their eyes first met should be the place where they seal their love. So it was immediately apparent that they would celebrate their love in an informal and natural setting.

In keeping with her free love, the wedding was implemented in a simple Mediterranean design with elegant details and materials from the region. In the Agroturismo Can Guillem, the elegant Mediterranean wedding style was staged in the colors beige, olive green, and unusual gold tones and accents in black as an Ibiza wedding venue, matching the surroundings

Our couple Hannah and Sophia, presented it in their gorgeous wedding dresses with sophisticated lace and geometric details next to imposing cacti that grew taller, playfully modern braided hair.

Words by Hannah & Sophia
What is your favorite memory together?

Definitely, when we met the first time, it was summer, and the sea gently lapped the shores of Cala Comte. A gentle sea breeze refreshed the summer day, and fate was kind at a bar in Cala Comte when our eyes met for the first time. And a big smile followed on both sides. After exciting conversations at sunset and a few cocktails later, it was clear to us that this moment was unique. The place where we met would be decisive in our lives. So this shooting was the perfect opportunity to be on our island together and spread lots of love.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome together?

We lived in faraway regions, which presented us with challenges daily. However, we also mastered this together and are all the more pleased when we can enjoy a weekend or a trip together.

What would you say if you could give your younger selves a pep talk for the future?

Be confident with yourself, and as a couple, spread love and don’t bother with other opinions. Every human is unique and special.
