We have been together for five years. We met in a restaurant. Janeth was a hostess, and Mayra was a diner. It was a crush, but nothing happened until Janeth took the first step, sending a message on Facebook.
Mayra proposed to Janeth on a trip to Thailand with a black diamond ring, making that trip unforgettable.
We knew that we wanted to get married on the beach, and Cancun is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Costa Mujeres is a relatively unspoiled place. We were lucky enough to book our wedding at a brand new hotel. It was the perfect place to host our romantic Mayan wedding.
The wedding day was spiritual and emotional. Easily one of the best days of our lives. After our mothers took us to the altar on the beach, we had a Mayan Shaman marry us. Live musicians even say a surprise song that Mayra had written to Janeth.
We were crying happy tears all day with our family and friends.
For us, marriage means reaffirming trust and respect. It is a sacred act that must be taken seriously. Be very sure of what you are doing. Do not take it lightly because it is one of the most important decisions in life, and it is something incredible when it is done with the person you love.
