Jennifer & Whitney followed their love through medical school and married in September 2016 in Colorado.
Whitney and Jennifer met almost six years ago during their first year of medical school in San Antonio.
In September 2015, Whitney proposed to Jennifer at the Grand Teton National Park. Sneakily, she set up a photo shoot in the guise of fall photos for the nearing Christmas cards. As the photographer was snapping photographs of the pair, Whitney surprised Jenn, got down on one knee and asked the big question.
The wedding took place a year later at Schmid Ranch, just outside Telluride, Colorado.
It was a small wedding with 40 guests and included mostly family and a few close friends. As guests sat on hay bails overlooking Wilson Peak, the two brides took their position under a beautiful floral arch.
The wedding theme was travel since both Jennifer and Whitney had travelled extensively together. Jennifer, creatively, made all the decorations, including a seating chart that was a map with tables named after countries that signified important times in their lives.
The guest book was a globe, and the cards went into a small suitcase.
During the wedding planning process, Whitney went dress shopping with her mother and sister-in-law the weekend before Jennifer was due to go with her mother.
Whitney had seen a couple of boutiques but fell in love with a dress at Alta Moda Bridal.
Ironically, she mentioned to her family that although she thought the dress she’d fallen in love with was beautiful, she couldn’t buy it because she thought I would be Jennifer’s dress.
The next weekend, Jennifer went with her mother to the same boutique, and after a few dresses, she fell in love with her bohemian lace wedding dress. After the final decision was made, the consultant divulged the secret; it was the same dress Whitney thought she would choose.
Congratulations on your marriage, Jennifer & Whitney
