Katie & Meredith – A Boho Industrial Wedding in Milwaukee

Morgan Rindhal Photograpy - Boho Industrial Wedding in Milwaukee

Katie and Meredith’s tale is another Tinder love story turned a beautiful romance. These two married in an indoor wedding ceremony that was a good mix of industrial meets boho.

We mutually matched on Tinder and met in person May 5th (Cinco De Mayo) at a bar called Brewskis in Milwaukee. We will have been together for three years in May 2020.

One of my favorite memories is when Meredith took me on a surprise trip to Colorado that I’ve been dying to go on. I had a surprise of my own and proposed with her dream ring at Pony Pond on a large secluded rock in Estes Park. We had to UTV up there and hiked to the pond.

Any stories from the lead up to the wedding, stressful or funny?

As stressful as wedding planning was, the free wine from the venue was a BIG help! We went dress shopping together with our wedding parties and were blindfolded when we walked out so everyone could let us know what they thought of our dresses. Meredith did not want them to look similar. It turns out our dream dresses were almost an exact match, but nobody had the heart to tell us!

Our first look was a shock as we asked if we both had the same dress.

And, the wedding day, how did it all come together.

I pretty much let Meredith do what she wanted as long as I could have a say in the bar, guest list, and most importantly, the DJ. We both have similar taste and agreed on just about everything. The vibe was chill, and we made sure that our bridal parties didn’t have to do much.

The big day was perfect! My bridal party got ready in my hometown of Hartford, WI, at my salon. A bus came to pick us up and drop us off at the hotel, where Meredith was to finish getting ready all together. While we got ready, Meredith’s bridal party got on the bus and went to the venue.

The bus circled back to get my party, and then Meredith and I did our first look on the venue’s roof privately.

The ceremony was absolutely perfect! I had my friend Nick play the Wedding Singer, “I want to grow old with you,” which got a lot of laughs.

The best advice we can give is to make sure you have a wedding planner! Lifesaver. If you have people traveling far or to a downtown area with no parking, hire a bus or two to take people back to a park and ride or home.
