We both work in a restaurant together. We like working with people and also both like good food. When we’re off, we go to our summer house, and we work in our garden and around the house. We like to do most of the things by ourselves. We also like to travel; going on road trips is our passion. Seeing different places and countries and getting to know about their culture.
We met on Facebook, ironic, as I would say. I always said I don’t see myself meeting people on social media. But yet that is where we met, we began to talk every day and then decided to meet. It was that first day we met that we knew we were meant for each other. It will be five years this October.
Our proposal was on the 4th of January while drinking our morning coffee. I remember how nervous she was. I knew something was happening. She got so nervous and forgot about the plan she had. She burst into tears and just popped the question. Of course, I said yes- one of my happiest moments!
Talk to us about your experience finding your outfits.
Katka checked some dresses online, and she picked some to go and try. She knew what she wanted, so it wasn’t so hard- a white dress with lace.
But I had a few worries of my own. First, I had to lose a few pounds for my perfect outfit in my head. All I knew was that we decided on red All-Star shoes. Then we went from store to store and tried on pants and shirt combos. A week before the big day, I finally found my outfit. It was very stressful for me.
Tell us about your wedding day.
We got up very early in the morning, drank coffee, and then packed our things. Then at the hotel, we went to our room, and preparations began. Jana, our photographer, came to get some great pictures while dressing up. Time flew so fast as the hour of the ceremony was getting closer. We walked to the park, and there they were all our families and friends waiting for us. A DJ was spinning our favorite song while walking to the pavilion. I saw everyone crying and could feel their happiness for us. After a few drinks, we went to the park and had photos taken as a married couple. Later we moved to the hotel where we had arranged for food, amusement, and of course, a party. Before the sunset, we went to another photoshoot- it was magical.
Meanwhile, our guests were entertained by our fantastic DJ. We also had our first dance, which we had learned by ourselves. At midnight we had a big, delicious wedding cake and the party went on all night long.
Marriage is not just a piece of paper but has a more significant meaning. It means we are sure that you find your soul mate only once in a lifetime. That you are committed and devoted, that you are there for one another no matter what. It’s a way of how you take care of each other.
