Maddie & Molly – Planning a Micro Wedding in Less than 3 Months

Between lockdowns in Melbourne, Maddie and Molly decided to plan their entire micro wedding in just two and a half months. Café Sidra was a standout vendor, and it just so happened to be available, along with all of their chosen vendors.

THE WEDDING DAY

When we woke up in the morning and looked out to see it was raining, it didn’t dampen anything.

At nine am, my maid of honor, Ellie, arrived to take my hair and makeup done. Maddie’s maid of honor, her sister Gemma, and mum came shortly after to pick her up and take her to her appointments. One last kiss goodbye and exchange of nervous but excited looks were exchanged before we went our separate ways.

We decided to have a reveal and photos before the ceremony, and we are so glad we did! We knew we were going to be very emotional at that moment and wanted it to be something we could share. It made for some absolutely amazing photos.

Walking around in the rain juggling umbrellas and two quite large and exited fur babies in full-length wedding dresses would sound like a nightmare to most, but it couldn’t have been more perfect. Our photographer Alysha from Hey Babe Photography, was an absolute champ, battling the rain to capture more incredible photos.

We got to have a bit of time between the pictures and our ceremony to take a break and hang out with our maid of honors and some family members. It was nice to reflect together on a big part of our wedding before moving on to the next. It was also an excellent time to put ourselves back together after all the rain.

We then all got driven back to the ceremony in a white 1960 Holden Monaro. The ceremony was on the deck at Café Sidra, with a glass window and rain trickling down. A simple piece of chiffon draped over a low hanging beam made for the most lovely backdrop. We had a charming and intimate ceremony with only thirty-five of our closest friends and family. We decided to exchange our vows, which made the moment just that much more emotional and had everyone in tears.

After the formality’s it was onto the reception. We decided a sit-down meal was way too formal for the vibe we wanted; wood-fired pizzas were way more our style.

We both had the most stress-free fantastic day. We honestly couldn’t have made it any more perfect if we tried.
