A note from the photographer, Karin Hasselström;

A few months ago, we decided to put together a styled photoshoot to celebrate universal love. It’s essential for us that the people we work with understand our values. We believe in equality and diversity. We also believe that you should be able to choose to celebrate your love the way you want to.

We’ve noticed that many couples still feel like they have to have a wedding which their relatives approve of. You should be able to choose to have a non-alcohol, vegetarian, intimate, colorful wedding if that is exactly what you want to do. You don’t have to wear a white wedding dress, choose the color that you like. Be empowered to ask ‘why’ when it comes to wedding traditions and do things for all the right reasons.

With that in mind and keeping current wedding trends in mind, we created this light and airy wedding day with a more bohemian and rustic vibe with colorful styling. We find it refreshing.

We gathered several suppliers who helped us with styling etc. We also asked Zarah and Molly, a lovely couple who are expecting their third child, to help us bring the shoot to life. They told us about how lost they had been before they managed to find each other and find peace. It was both sweet and heartbreaking to hear how they had struggled before they met. When they started their family, they found happiness. Zarah told me that it was so lovely to finally be able to show their love to the rest of the world. So, our styled photoshoot actually served a bigger purpose than just to show trends and values – it became a celebration of authentic love.

When it comes to styling, we wanted to make a compelling table setting. We used black candles, bold flowers, and wanted to make sure it had a rustic feeling. We placed the dinner in a very small and intimate room in a big mansion called Schenstromska Herrgarden. Next to the main building is a forge where we had the ceremony.

Finally, the sunset photos were shot in a nature reserve close to the mansion. Zarah was stunning, with her black tulle skirt, large bouquet, and Hollywood hairstyle with red lips, and Molly, in a petite dress with her ring of flowers. We liked the contrast between the big florals and black skirt and the dainty white dress and ring of flowers.
