Robyn Nicole Film and Photo
Hi! I’m Robyn! I’m a loud and out queer photographer and cinematographer, and I use she/her pronouns.
In my work and my daily life, I am active in my political, social, and emotional education and prefer working with couples who are similar to me in that way. I center my photography and videography on giving space to marginalized groups of people, listening to womxn, prioritizing the lives of POC, and normalizing variance among human beings in size, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and religious beliefs, among other things. I think that the way we love others, and the way we choose to document or not document our love for others is political. I honestly believe that wedding documentation can change the world we live in.
It’s important for me to inhabit your space as a photo-journalist. I lean hard toward capturing mostly candid moments because it aligns most with my belief that stopping someone mid-action and repositioning them communicates on some level that they are not beautiful, unique, and worthy of being seen just how they are. PSA: you are gorgeous, exceptionally rad, and deserve to be seen just how you are!
I have some pretty serious thoughts about my intention as a photographer and cinematographer, but a not-so-serious vibe. I like big earrings, enviable bowties, and being too cheap to buy things that “I could definitely make.” I love wide-open skies, heavy rain, and amassing bumper stickers that make cis males squint hard at red-lights. I will lip-sync animatedly during your reception to anything 90s RnB. I like to roller skate, love to get down at themed dance parties, and hate-love being a cat mom to my ridiculous gremlin of a feline.
I’m based in Maine, but travel for free in the contiguous US, and cover half of my travel costs elsewhere! Seeing new places is one of the great joys of my life. There’s nowhere I wouldn’t go for a good story and a great love. I look forward to chatting with you about how I can be a part of yours!
