Emotive, Candid, You.

Hi I’m Kayla (she/her), and I’m a Central Coast-based LGBTQ+ photographer, and I LOVE love. As the world turns and chaos ensues, one thing remains present in our lives, and that is love. Raw, real love. This is the love I want to capture. The messy moments, the tears, the laughs and everything in between. As a candid photographer, I have a hands-off approach for much of the day, capturing the moments as they authentically happen. So when you look back at your album in 20 years, you remember the real moments and days and see more than just photos.

For me, photography is about more than aesthetics. I’m not here to follow trends. It’s about creating memories that are intertwined with soul and character. These moments are preserved with magic, creating long-lasting memories. Whether you’re eloping on a mountain top, hosting a small, intimate backyard wedding or the party of the century, I bring my relaxed energy to your day, ensuring that you can be yourself, and we can capture the real you.

If you’re looking for an easy-going photographer, I’d love to capture your day!

What inspired you to work in the wedding world?

It was my own wedding, actually! I got married in the Hunter Valley in 2024, and we had an incredible team with us, but my wife and I really struggled finding vendors in the community who were located close by, and ended up getting the majority of inclusive vendors from cities hours away, which wasn’t ideal for us. But we made it work because we knew having our LGBTQIA community members at our wedding made us feel a lot more comfortable being ourselves.

I didn’t realise how hard it can be to find inclusive vendors for a wedding until I went through the process myself, and I really want to be able to help create the safe space for couples, which I feel like was missing in parts of our wedding planning process. I’ve been working in the wedding world since 2023 when I started the wedding planning process, and have loved every second of it!

Team elopement or wedding? Why?

Elopements and intimate weddings have my heart. As much as I love weddings and the parties that people make entirely their own. There is something so special about being chosen to witness such an intimate part of someone’s life. It’s an experience that you can’t really describe, but elopements are by far my favourite thing to capture.

What’s something people would be surprised to find out about you?

I’m an endurance runner. I run for a lot of reasons, but I find it very beneficial for my mental health. I’ve already run a marathon, and I will be heading to Canada for an ultramarathon in 2026.
