We’re Shyani and Simon, the duo behind Moments Photography & Film, based in Sydney and travelling across New South Wales and beyond for weddings.
Our work is all about people first. We’re drawn to weddings with heart, personality, good energy, and couples who care more about how their day felt than ticking every box. The biggest compliment we can get is when a gallery feels like the wedding itself, not a version of it that was staged for the camera.
Our style sits somewhere between documentary and editorial. We’re always looking for the real stuff, the emotion, the movement, the chaos, the tiny in between moments, but we also know when to step in and guide you so you feel comfortable and look incredible without feeling stiff or overly posed. We want your photos and films to feel effortless, honest, and timeless.
We shoot both digital and true film, including 35mm and medium format, and we edit with a colourful, true to life finish that still feels nostalgic and refined. We love weddings that feel modern but personal, whether that’s something intimate and relaxed or a huge party with a packed dance floor.
More than anything, we want our couples to feel safe, seen, and fully themselves with us. No weird assumptions, no forcing traditions that don’t fit, and no awkward energy. Just beautiful, genuine storytelling that feels like you.

What’s your process for understanding a couple’s vision for their day?
We usually start by getting a feel for you as people rather than jumping straight into a shot list. How you interact, what you care about, what kind of energy you want the day to have. From there, we shape our approach around that instead of trying to fit you into a set way of doing things. Some couples want a lot of guidance, others want us to blend in more, and we adjust to that so everything feels natural.
What’s your favourite wedding moment to capture?
The in between moments, always. The quiet hand squeeze before the ceremony, the way your friends look at you during speeches, the little bits that aren’t planned. Those are usually the moments people come back to the most because they feel real.
How do you keep it together when things are getting emotional on the day?
Honestly, we don’t always. We feel everything with you, which is probably why we’re so drawn to weddings in the first place. We’ve had moments where we’re quietly tearing up behind the camera, but we’ve also learned how to stay present and focused so nothing gets missed. It’s a balance of being emotionally in it with you while still doing our job properly.
