Petal & Salt

Artful, sustainable floral design rooted in Northern California.

Creativity has always been a huge part of who I am. It’s shaped how I see the world and how I move through it. Petal + Salt grew from that love of making things with my hands and finding beauty in the details.

In my work, I’m drawn to color, texture, and all the interesting, sometimes weird ingredients that make flowers feel alive and full of personality. I love that floral design can be both grand and intimate, sculptural and fleeting. It’s art that fills a space and changes how it feels.

Sustainability is a core part of my process. I design without floral foam, reuse my mechanics whenever possible, compost green waste, and source primarily from local growers, many of them small, women-owned farms whose care and passion inspire me. Every choice matters, and I want my work to honor both the people and the environment that make it possible.

Inclusivity is just as important to me. No one should ever feel unwelcome, unseen, or unworthy of celebration. Flowers are for everyone, and it’s my job to create a space where couples feel heard, safe, and accepted for who they are.

Being in the wedding world is both stressful and joyful. There’s so much at stake, but that’s what makes it meaningful. I love knowing that for one incredible day, the flowers I design become part of someone’s story.

Being an inclusive wedding professional isn’t something I have to think about; it’s at the heart of who I am and why I do this work. I love all love! Every couple deserves to feel celebrated for exactly who they are and in a way that feels true to them. I’m devoted to serving all people, of every skin color, body size, background, faith, disability, gender, and relationship. My commitment starts with using non-gendered language in my forms and communication, using my platform to call out and draw attention to systems of oppression, and continues with an openness to learn, listen, and hold space for every couple’s story.

What’s your favorite guilty pleasure TV show or movie?

Love Island UK. It’s a total train wreck, frustrating, and cringy and very lacking in representation but I just can’t get enough! I’m hooked every season. And no one I know watches it, hahaha, it’s torture.

What’s the most rewarding thing about being a wedding pro?

Being chosen. Weddings are full of meaning and getting invited to add beauty through my art is an honor. It’s a memorable event that has lasting impact on people’s lives and it still blows my mind that I get to contribute. I’ll never take that for granted.

What’s your favorite part of the wedding day?

Set up! (With an honorable mention to the ceremony, I always get teary-eyed.) There’s nothing like seeing months of planning come to life. Watching the space transform, laughing with my team, and hearing everyone’s reactions as it all comes together. It’s the best!
