Thistle and Poppy Photography
Romantic, Cinematic Wedding & Elopement Photography for the Dreamers and the Lovers.
At Thistle & Poppy Photography, I document love stories that feel timeless, cinematic, and deeply human.
Based in Los Angeles but traveling wherever your story unfolds, I create imagery that captures the fleeting, heartfelt moments, the wind through your hair, the quiet touch before a kiss, the laughter that fills a room.
My approach blends natural light and true-to-life tones with a soft, romantic glow that feels like memories; honest, emotive, and artfully composed. Whether photographing on digital or film, I strive to preserve the soul of your day rather than just the timeline. With over a decade in the wedding industry, my background in bridal design shapes how I see: the fall of a gown, the curve of a hand, the details often missed. I’m drawn to stories that celebrate connection in all its forms, especially those that reflect authenticity, inclusivity, and adventure.
Thistle & Poppy was created for the dreamers and the lovers, those who believe in slow mornings, wildflowers, and the magic of being seen as you are. Together, we’ll craft imagery that feels effortless yet artful, photographs that don’t just show how your day looked, but how it felt.

What’s your favorite wedding moment to capture?
It’s always the in-between moments, the ones that feel almost too fleeting to notice. The quiet breath before walking down the aisle, the way someone’s fingers trace along their partner’s hand, or the laughter that spills out during toasts when the guard finally comes down. Those unscripted, honest moments are where love feels the most real.
How do you help calm down nervous lovers?
I remind them that this isn’t a performance, it’s a celebration of their love, exactly as it is. I focus on creating a calm, comfortable space where they can breathe, laugh, and simply be together. Often I’ll give soft, natural prompts that encourage movement or touch, so it feels less like posing and more like being present.
Have you got any pets? Tell us about them.
Yes! I have a six-year-old pittie mix named Pennie, my only fur baby and constant sidekick. She’s calm and gentle, a lot like me, though she’s completely obsessed with my husband (despite the fact that I’m the one who comes home on my lunch break to walk her and take her to the dog park). My husband and I even have matching tattoos of a penny with her silhouette inside and the words “In Dog We Trust.” I adore all animals, but Pennie holds a very special place in my heart.
