Tove Lundquist Photography
Tove Lundquist — Documentary wedding photographer in Sweden with a focus on genuine emotions and storytelling.
Hi, I’m Tove – a documentary wedding photographer based in Malmö which is in the south of Sweden. I shoot weddings in both Sweden, Denmark and the north of Germany.
My approach is built around storytelling and to show your day as it actually unfolds. I want your images to feel like you – not like a stranger’s idea of what a wedding “should” look like. I don’t do stiff poses or fake laughs and you´ll never hear me say “Cheese!” unless I want you to laugh for real. At me. 😉 I tend to mix candid, in-the-moment shots with relaxed portraits that shows genuine feelings in combination with images of how the day looked. I shoot what I see.
I work with couples of all nationalities, genders, pronouns and gender expressions and I’ve photographed everything from a Viking-themed wedding at an archaeological museum to weddings in 1000 year old Swedish castles to indoor weddings in beautiful places to 100 year old schools to quiet two-person elopements on the coast of Österlen. The people I shoot is who matters – not the location.
My couples often tells me that their wedding days felt easier because I was there — I´m less like a vendor and more like a trusted friend who happened to be holding a camera. That’s exactly the experience I aim to create: genuine emotion, real moments and a wedding day that flows naturally instead of stopping every five minutes for a pose.

What’s a piece of advice you find yourself giving to all your couples?
Trust your gut and plan for yourselves and no one else! Skip the traditions that don’t feel right and let go of what anyone else expects you to do.
How do you ensure that a wedding runs smoothly?
By communication! My couples always get a detailed checklist before the wedding that we go through together and I always connect with the other vendors. Straight up communication with the toastmadames/toastmasters/wedding coordinator is very important! And on the wedding day me and me brides have the motto “Murphy might come and then we figure it out and go with the flow!”.
What’s your favourite thing about being a wedding pro?
That I´ll meet so many wonderful people and get to know other cultures and customs. Knowing that my images will be important to not only the couple but also to other people like children and grandchildren if the couple chooses to have kids, and to other relatives.
