Eclectic Vintage Fashion for a Boardwalk Elopement in Asbury Park
If youโve ever needed proof that weddings donโt need rules, this Asbury Park elopement is it. Photographer Jess Glass gathered local talent to create something that celebrates individuality โ vintage fashion, 70s vibes, wild florals, and a couple who radiate pure joy. Victoria, known on stage as Zoe on Venus, and her girlfriend Sam brought such real, magnetic energy that the whole shoot felt like a love letter to Asbury Park itself.
What inspired this styled shoot in Asbury Park?
The idea was to create a non-traditional elopement that highlighted individuality and collaboration. Instead of following wedding traditions, the goal was to showcase vintage fashion, local talent, and the freedom to make your day your own. It was just as much about celebrating love as it was about having fun with the Asbury Park creative community.
How did the styling come together?
Shedhead Vintage in Asbury Park provided two incredible 70s dresses, including a vintage Gunne Sax gown. Lock and Shade handled both hair styling and makeup, creating fresh looks that paired perfectly with the outfits. Harley Rose Floral designed colorful bouquets that added even more vibrancy. There wasnโt a strict plan for the shoot, which made it even better. Everyone contributed their own vision, and the collaboration came together naturally.

Why was Asbury Park the perfect backdrop?
Victoria and Sam are local, so photographing them in Asbury Park felt authentic and true to the community. The streets, ivy walls, and local spots gave the images a lived-in energy that matched the non-traditional theme perfectly.
Who captured the day?
The shoot was photographed by Jess Glass, whose eye for non-traditional wedding stories shines through in every frame. Jess has a way of making even the most candid moments feel full of life.
Who are Victoria and Sam?
Victoria is a popstar who performs as Zoe on Venus. Her vibe is magnetic and creative, and when paired with her girlfriend Sam, the energy is pure magic. They laugh constantly, theyโre kind to everyone, and they make every photograph come alive. Choosing them for the shoot was an easy decision.
What do you hope lovers take away from this editorial?
That lovers walk away knowing that there really are no rules when it comes to weddings. You donโt have to buy something new, stick to traditions, or fit your style into a box. Vintage clothing and local vendors can create something meaningful and beautiful that feels like itโs truly yours.
My favorite part of this styled shoot was watching everyone bring their creativity to the table. It was lighthearted, experimental, and full of personality. It served as a reminder that weddings should feel like this too. Fun, expressive, and completely your own.
