Playful Palettes and Bold Design at an Oregon Waterfront Elopement
Astoria, Oregonโs Bowline Hotel set the stage for this colorful styled elopement that celebrated bold design and queer love. Featuring real couple Sami (she/her) and Kylie (she/her), the shoot brought together a team of creatives who thrive on playful palettes and unexpected details. From vibrant florals by Wrong Number Floral to fashion pieces from Lulus and a veil by In September, every element leaned into color, texture, and personality. Captured by Taryn Nancy Photography, this editorial shows just how fun it can be to infuse your wedding with the things you love most.
What inspired this styled shoot?
The inspiration began with the Bowline Hotel in Astoria, Oregon, a space that blends luxury with environmental consciousness. As a certified B Corp, they pour intentionality into every guest experience, making it the perfect place to style an elopement.
Hope from Wrong Number Floral and I, Taryn Nancy Photography, are both color lovers. While we can appreciate a neutral palette, color is where we thrive. We wanted to create something bold and playful together, encouraging couples who love vibrant design to lean into it. I always tell clients: look at your home, your closet, your favorite textures and patterns. Bring those elements into your wedding or elopement and you wonโt be disappointed.
What were the key styling elements, and who brought them to life?
Hope from Wrong Number Floral and I share a love for bold design. After countless conversations about bringing more color into the wedding industry, this shoot was born.
We each created mood boards with the theme โcolorful and funโ and quickly realized our visions were almost identical. From there, every vendor infused their own interpretation: statement florals from Wrong Number Floral, fashion-forward gowns from Lulus, a playful veil from In September, vibrant stationery and signage by Souvenir, hair and makeup by Alyssa Underwood, and rentals from Oregon Elevated Events. Sweet details came through desserts by Tiny Bakery and styled accents provided by Flat Lay Library.
Letting creatives truly be creative made the styling come alive.

Why did you choose these lovers, and whatโs their story?
Our models are a real couple, and their love was beautiful to witness. Their chemistry and affection made every moment effortless to photograph. It was important to us to showcase queer love, as representation is vital in our industry.
