A Bride With Tattoos & A Rustic Barn Wedding
Just out of their hometown of Albury, Wodonga, Teneale & Tammie wed in a rustic barn, with their kids in town, surrounded by all of their favourite people.
Tell Us About Your Proposal.
Teneale: It was beautiful and breathtaking. It was Tammie’s first trip overseas for our anniversary, and I surprised her with an onsen Hot tub experience overlooking the shot over the river at sunset in New Zealand – me having a swim and snacks to turn around to Tammie on one knee in the Hot tub with a fucking huge rock in her hand asking me to marry her.
We were engaged 14 months. Tammie was too much of a snack not to snatch up quickly and plan the wedding!
What Sort Of Themes Did You Have In Mind When Planning Your Wedding?
We wanted a rustic boho wedding and nothing too fancy and kept it relaxed as we are chill, and we wanted a nice vibe. Obsessed with fairy lights and wine barrels as tables.
No real inspiration behind it, we just made it a representation of us.
How Did You Find Your Perfect Wedding Outfits?
Teneale: I am covered in tattoos, so I knew I wanted a fitted dress with zero back on it. I literally bought the first dress I tried on. Tammie wasn’t even going looking the day she found hers. She walked in with a friend to have a quick look spontaneously and ended up not liking any that she tried on. On the way out she saw one on the mannequin she wouldn’t normally look at but tried it on just because and ended up not wanting to take it off.
And, How Was The Wedding Day?
Teneale: I was so nervous that I was eating travel calm tablets whilst getting ready.
We got ready at different houses, and Tammie had all three kids with her getting ready. The day went pretty smoothly. By the end we were so tired, but we had such a blast.
The night goes so quickly that I wish we could pause and take a minute to take it in. It was small and intimate, just immediate family and friends. There were a few shocks when everyone saw me (Teneale) as I NEVER wear dresses, Tammie was stunning, and the kids looked wonderful and got teary watching us walk down the aisle together with our dads on either side.
What Are Your Favorite Moments?
Tammie said she loved seeing me for the first time in my dress, loved seeing the kids all done up, and excited to be getting married, and when our son got teary seeing Tammie in her dress. Tammie loved how nervous I was and our first dance.
Do You Have A Standout Wedding Vendor?
Our photographers – Erin and Erica from Margan Photography, for capturing our beautiful day and just going above and beyond to produce the most magnificent photos.
Our singer was incredible and was a big standout for us by learning our first dance song on guitar and singing it, which made our moment a little more special.
