Falling In Love With Your Best Friend

Paola and Jordan met back in 2011 at Northern Arizona University, and after a decade of friendship and love, they finally tied the knot in a beautiful backyard wedding surrounded by their loved ones. Their story is one of resilience, love, and perseverance in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

THE LOVE STORY

Their love story is a testament to the power of friendship and the magic of falling in love with your best friend. The couple had been friends for years before they took their relationship to the next level and started dating. Jordan always knew that Paola was the one for her and she was determined to make her dream of an opal engagement ring come true.

And so, in the summer of 2020, he started working with a jewelry company to create the perfect ring for her.

THE PROPOSAL

The proposal was a sunset picnic in Flagstaff, one of the couple’s favorite places to visit. Jordan nervously got down on one knee as the sun was setting over Lake Mary, and Paola said yes. The couple was engaged for just over a year before they finally exchanged their vows in a beautiful backyard wedding surrounded by their loved ones.

PLANNING THE WEDDING

Planning a wedding during a pandemic was not an easy task, but Paola and Jordan were determined to make it happen. They were originally supposed to get married a year prior but had to delay the wedding due to a COVID diagnosis just five days before the wedding. The year was filled with stress and uncertainty, but the couple managed to find some humor in the situation. The biggest stressor they put on themselves was the decision to save money by having a backyard wedding, only to find out that the house needed a lot of work leading up to the wedding. In the end, the wedding day was perfect, and they wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

THE WEDDING DAY

The couple decided to get married in their backyard because they wanted to save money and have the flexibility to do what they wanted on their wedding day without any time constraints. They chose a boho theme because they both love minimalist decorations and the laid-back vibe of the boho theme.

The couple did undertake some DIY projects for their big day, including making their own flower arrangements and decorating their backyard to create the perfect boho atmosphere. The result was a beautiful and intimate wedding surrounded by the people they love.

Love in the time of COVID was not easy, but Paola and Jordan’s love story is proof that it’s possible to overcome adversity and come out stronger on the other side. Their wedding day was a celebration of their love and commitment to each other, and a symbol of hope for a better future.
