Hi there, I’m Que! I’m a nonbinary photographer based out of AR. My journey into this world starts with a younger version of myself whose imagination was too big to contain. I wrote stories and drew pictures about dragons, friendships, exploring. As I aged, my writing shifted from an innocent imagination to figuring out how to cope with lessons on “growing up.” A gracious space to let my thoughts and feelings roam free, without judgement.

New York legalized marriage equality in 2011, four years before the rest of the country, and the state has been a go-to for queer weddings ever since. City hall elopements, Brooklyn breweries, Catskills creeksides: it’s all here.
Apply with any town or city clerk in the state. You’ll wait 24 hours after the license is issued before your ceremony, and the license is good for 60 days from the day after issue. You need at least one witness besides your officiant. You don’t need to live in New York, and neither does your officiant.
NYC runs its own marriage bureau, with its own fees. If a friend is officiating within the five boroughs, they must register with the City Clerk first. A city hall elopement in Manhattan is a classic for a reason.
Brooklyn is a favorite, from a brewery wedding with a ring bear to soft gothic romance in a brownstone. Want trees? Head upstate for a creekside Catskills wedding.

No. You can apply with any town or city clerk in the state, and your officiant does not need to live in New York either.
Legal details last checked October 2026 against the New York State Department of Health. NYC fees and rules come from the City Clerk.
