A Thoughtful Proposal After Breathwork Session, with Family

With a clear mind, Britt (she/her) planned a breathwork session with family and friends, under the guise of ‘birthday celebrations’. The session ended with affirmations of love from family, and a marriage proposal to their (now) finance, Lindsay (she/her).

Tell us about falling in love. 

It may sound cliche, but the moment I met Britt it was as if everything just clicked. I have never experienced such a magnetic pull towards someone and I just knew I had to get to know her better. 

As we spent time together, we decided to hang out outside of work. During that first hang-out I mustered up the courage to confess my feelings to Britt – that I’d had a crush on her for months! 

To my surprise, Britt was not only shocked, but also excited about it. 

From that moment on, we’ve been inseparable.

Every single day we choose to be together, and it feels like we were always meant to find each other this way. Our love story, filled with deep feelings and a bit of spontaneity, had brought us to where we are now. Britt and I have fallen head over heels for each other, and it’s crystal clear that this was destined to be.

Tell us about the proposal. 

Britt surprised me with the most incredible birthday celebration. She rented our beloved yoga studio, filled it with our loved ones, and after a heartfelt breathwork session, they all blindfolded me where I then walked under a tunnel of hands, with each person sharing a special affirmation about me. 

At the end of the tunnel, I removed my blindfold to open my eyes and see Britt waiting on one knee, asking me to marry her! 

It was a moment of overwhelming love and joy – I even had my best friend singing our favorite song and playing guitar in the background. 

It was pure magic.


What were the emotions running through you during the proposal moment?

Britt – My mind was clear.

Linds – Throughout the entire day, I was under the impression that it was solely a birthday celebration! As soon as the blindfold was removed, I cried and was so overwhelmed with love. 

It was the most beautiful moment of my life. 

How has your relationship changed since the proposal?

We’ve been on quite the journey, both together and on our own. We’ve given our all to nurture this relationship and make it thrive – even on those days when it feels a bit challenging, the effort is so rewarding. 

We don’t shy away from difficult conversations; we address them head-on and ensure that nothing remains unsaid.
