A Playful and Intimate Queer Couples Session in Asbury Park
Gianna (she/her) first spotted Sierra (she/her) at Talulaโs in Asbury Park and decided not to leave things to chance. She called the restaurant and asked the hostess to give Sierra her number. Safe to say that worked out pretty well.
What followed were late-night phone calls, summers at the Jersey Shore, long distance, and plenty of life lived together.
Asbury Park felt like the right place for their first photo session together. Gianna was nervous about being in front of the camera, but having Sierra beside her helped almost immediately. With Jess Glass Photography keeping the session relaxed and pressure-free, it did not take long for those nerves to disappear.
They laughed, kissed, got a little silly, and mostly forgot about the camera. The result is playful, intimate, a little steamy, and full of the kind of moments that feel natural rather than posed.
How did you two first meet?
The first time I saw Sierra was at Talulaโs in Asbury Park. I called the restaurant and had the hostess give her my number because I just knew she was going to be someone really special in my life.
What were those first few months together like?
After that, we talked every day. We would spend hours on the phone almost every night, sometimes until 3 am. We seriously could not get enough of each other.
Falling in love with her felt like our souls had finally reconnected in this lifetime and just picked up where we left off. She felt like home.

What are some of your favourite memories together?
Our endless beach days every summer down at the Jersey Shore are definitely up there.
There were also all the long distance car ride phone calls and, of course, somehow planning our elopement in 12 days!
What have been some of the harder parts of your relationship?
Long distance was definitely one of them. We have also had to navigate not always having family approval of our relationship, along with figuring out our career paths.
How did you feel about having photos taken together for the first time?
I was nervous! I am definitely camera shy, so I did not really know what to expect.
But being with Sierra immediately made me relax, and Jess put zero pressure on us to do anything specific. We just naturally flowed. We laughed, kissed, and did all the things we would normally do if there was no camera around.
And I have to say, I am VERY pleased with how they turned out. Jess captured us perfectly. Silly, steamy, and laughing right until the very end.
What are some of those little things that are just very you two?
Sierra absolutely adores watching me eat food. I could literally be eating anything and she looks at me like she is staring at the Mona Lisa or a Picasso for the first time.
And for me, it is her hands. I have this bad habit of watching her hands more than her mouth when she is talking to me.
Actually, her hands were the first thing that made me notice her that day at Talulaโs. There is just something about them that tells me everything I need to know about her life and her story.
And I cannot wait to keep holding them tightly as we hopefully grow old together.
