We know we harp on about how important it is to ‘be you’ on your wedding day, but for some women who want to rock a suit or a tuxedo, options can be a little sparse, and for others, it can be a downright awkward experience – and that’s not okay with us. So, here is a list of places to get a wedding suit or tuxedo for your queer wedding day.
But first, there is good news and bad news for women finding a suit for their wedding day.
The bad news, renting a suit might not be an option for you. Depending on your body shape and the style you envision yourself wearing, you might be able to find something that fits wells, but the chances are you won’t. The good news; there are loads of quality vendors, from America to Australia, the UK, and beyond, who create suits specifically for women [and then again specifically for LGBTQ+ women]. And more good news, you don’t necessarily have to foot the bill for a custom tailor-made suit, unless you want to.
We’ve narrowed down the list for you. Here are some of our favorite places to get women’s suits from around the world.
1. SHANE AVE
Australia & around the world
If you haven’t met Shane Ave, let us introduce you. Not only where the small LGBTQ+ led team at Shane Ave crowd favorites when we asked our audience for their favorite suit specialists in Australia [and beyond, they can work with clients across the world], but we’ve seen quite a few wedding days that feature Shane Ave suits, and they’re always incredible.
2. ISADORA NIM
Australia
Stylish suits, check. Suits that celebrate our unique bodies, check. Suits custom made to reflect your individuality, check. Isadora Nim works to create custom suits that check all the boxes for things you’re looking for in a wedding suit. They also have a strong focus on creating suits for women’s bodies, something so many suit companies don’t do.

3. BINDLE & KEEP
USA
We absolutely love the fact that Bindle and Keep pride themselves on creating a unique combination of fabric, lining, and cut for every individual. While this kind of bespoke service does come at a bit of a cost [prices start at around US$800, but go right up to US$3K] we promise it’ll be your pride & joy for years to come.

4. SuitShop
USA & around the world
Don’t be fooled by this company’s name, an all-woman powerhouse team leads SuitShop- and their custom-made suits are also great for LGBTQ+ bodies. They have an online ‘fit finder’ that’ll help you find the right size for your measurements and a risk-free try on at home model, so you can try on your wedding suit in the comfort of your own home [and if you don’t like it, for whatever reason, you can send it back].

5. SHARPE SUITING
USA & around the world
Another queer-owned company doing things for all the right reasons. While there is still the option to have a bespoke suit made, if something off the rack suits you better [see what we did there?!], they have a really great selection online that comes in a little cheaper than the full service.
