A Modern Luxe Wedding in Austin

Surrounded by their chosen family, Haley and Angel turned a blank space in Austin, Texas, into a modern luxe wedding – with colors of reds and pinks, and some incredible floral installations bringing it all to life. 

The ‘How it all Began’ Story

Haley (she/her) & Angel (she/they) met on the HER app during the pandemic. Haley lived in Austin and Angel in San Antonio, and Haley randomly increased her distance range on the app without knowing. In doing that, they matched! 

The moment they started talking, they completely hit it off. They met a week later for their first date, which ended up lasting nearly 24 hours! 

They both texted their separate friends after that date saying they were going to marry each other. Since that day; they have become completely inseparable. 

They did long distance between Austin and San Antonio for about 8 months until Angel finally moved to Austin in June of 2021 to be with Haley.

The Love Story

There is so much love between this couple, “We love each other so much, and we both want each other’s happiness more than anything else in the world. 

We are the dumb couple who miss each other when we’ve been away from each other for a couple hours. 

We love to spend time together and laugh together. We are OBSESSED with getting coffee and trying new coffee shops – it is our thing. We are incredibly comfortable around each other, and we have no secrets. 

We are truly best friends.”

The Inspiration Behind the Wedding Day

Something unexpected and unique, especially with the venue being a modern blank space. Red has always been Haleys favorite color, so they wanted to lean into that. 

“We love the thought of showing a stable, queer relationship to folks who may not feel comfortable with themselves and their relationships at some point in their lives. We want to see the love shine through the photos in a positive and fun way.” 

The (Queer) Wedding Party

Haley got to have Jada (she/her), her best friend and chosen family of many years, be her maid of honor. Angel had Logan (he/him), her trans identical twin as her best person. 

Their families and support systems really showed up for them and then partied hard with them!

Favorite Moments from the Day

One of their favorite moments was the private letter exchange that helped them feel connected, calm nerves and still keep the big reveal of the aisle moment a secret.
