Adventurous Styled Elopement in Colorado

This adventurous styled elopement touched on every aspect most adventure elopements would, from getting ready at the Airbnb, reading letters from family at a pre-elopement picnic, and an intimate ceremony on the top of the picturesque mountains of Colorado during sunset.

While the couple, Aly and Clarissa, brought their love, their elopement was brought to life by florist, Emma Lea Floral, who focused on showcasing full-of-color florals while sticking to minimalistic, low-waste principles.

Aly & Clarissa, What Is Your Favorite Memory Together?

Our favorite memory was off-roading, trying to find the Ah Shi Sle Pah wilderness area. The maps aren’t very specific, and we were questioning whether we’d found the correct trail.

Then a deluge of rain began to soak us, and in that moment, we could have returned to the car. Instead, we were laughing and skipping in the rain.

When we found the ethereal rock formations, the rain stopped and the brightest double rainbow we had ever seen appeared. We explored and reveled in the most magical hike and scenery.

What Has Been The Biggest Challenge You’ve Had To Overcome Together?

Our biggest challenge has been doing laundry. I don’t mind doing the laundry, but I absolutely hate to fold it and put it away. It has been said that couples start to dress alike. It must be true because we have a difficult time discerning which tops belong to whom. Now we have to fold clothes as a team. We should probably do separate loads, but I enjoy spending the extra time together, chatting, while we try to sort our clothes apart.

If You Could Give Your Younger Selves A Pep Talk For The Future, What Would You Say?

Go outside your comfort zone, try something new, take a risk, and feel awkward. Get comfortable being uncomfortable and let the unknown become your normal because that is when the magic happens.

Obstacles should be reminders of how powerful and truly capable you are.

I love so many things about Aly, from how attentive she is to her willingness to go on adventures. Ultimately, I adore Aly’s sense of humor. She delivers cerebral jokes in a deadpan manner, and I enjoy watching people try to decide if she is being serious or joking.

I love Clarissa’s pure heart. She is always aware of others’ needs and ensures that people feel welcome and safe.

Love can be unexpected; we found love when we were not looking for it. We feel incredibly connected to each other through sharing so many amazing experiences and adventures; from trivial dinner conversations to road trips with serendipitous stops.
