Getting married in Louisiana

Same-sex couples have been able to marry in Louisiana since 2015, and every vendor in our directory is vetted to be genuinely affirming.

The legal bit

Bring photo ID and a certified birth certificate each. There’s a 24-hour wait between getting your license and your ceremony, though it can be waived in some situations, including by a registered officiant when both of you live out of state and marry in Orleans Parish. Your license is valid for 30 days in any parish.
