There’s a 3-day waiting period that starts when your license is issued, not when you apply. Then you have 60 days to marry. Two witnesses sign your marriage certificate along with you and your officiant. In King County, you can start online but must finish in person, or apply by mail with notarized signatures.
Licensed or ordained clergy and Washington judges can officiate, and out-of-state clergy can too, as long as the wedding happens in Washington. One rule to know: you can’t solemnize your own marriage here.
Seattle brought us greenhouse vows and churros at Poquitos, and Olympic National Park a forest-to-beach elopement. Planning a national park ceremony? Check the park’s special use permit rules early.

You must marry within 60 days, or the license becomes void.
Two witnesses, who sign the certificate with you and your officiant.
